Sculptra:  Another great collagen stimulator

Sculptra, otherwise known as Poly-L-Lactic Acid, is one of the oldest fillers on the market, having been approved in the USA in 1999.  It is a fantastic, long lasting, collagen-stimulating filler that doesn’t get a lot of attention.  Like Bellafill, Sculptra can last many years by causing our natural collagen to grow wherever we inject it.  Once our collagen grows in over a period of 6-12 months, it will remain there, allowing us to keep the rejuvenation effect of the filler for years.  Sculptra’s specialty is deep volume correction in areas such as the cheeks, temples, and jawline.  It can be used for nasolabial folds as well.

Sculptra is injected over three treatment sessions, 6 weeks apart.  This way it can be tailored slowly and precisely to build volume in a natural way over a period of time.  Like Bellafill, it is a very safe product that has been studied for many years.  With these two products, we now have all the tools necessary to create long-lasting, natural results in all parts of the face (except for the lip).   Why inject temporary products every year, only to watch them disappear.  This is a more expensive and less desirable way to achieve facial rejuvenation.

With collagen stimulators, once the initial series is complete, only small occasional touch ups are needed over time (as we continue to lose natural volume each year), making collagen stimulators a much better long term value.
