Nonsurgical Brow Lift
If you are unhappy with an aged appearance in the area of your eyes, there are many nonsurgical alternatives to a brow lift that are as good as—and in some cases, better, than brow lift surgery. A nonsurgical brow lift can help if you are looking to rejuvenate your appearance but don’t want surgery, or if you’ve had surgery and you’re unhappy with the results. A loss of volume in the eye area is actually one of the critical causes of an aged appearance, so dermal fillers like Restylane work well to restore your youthful appearance.

How Volume Loss Leads to Sagging Brows and Eyelids
When you talk to a plastic surgeon about sagging skin from the brows and upper eyelids, they will describe this as “excess” skin, but it isn’t really excess. Your skin doesn’t really stretch or grow like that. Instead, what’s really happening is that your brows have lost some of the volume they used to have. As a result, your skin can begin to sag.
The skin isn’t excess, it’s just the right amount of skin for the amount of volume you used to have in this area, but as the volume is lost, there is now too much skin for the reduced volume. Although it’s possible to restore balance by removing skin, often a better result can be achieved by restoring volume with Restylane or other injectable fillers.
Negative Results of Removing Skin in a Surgical Brow Lift
When a surgeon attempts to achieve a more youthful appearance, the results may not be an attractive, youthful appearance. Removing skin can just highlight the fact that volume has been lost in the area, exposing the hollowness of the eyes. This can actually make you look older than you did before the procedure.
Removing skin can also change the shape of the eyes, giving you an appearance that doesn’t look younger–it might not even look like you. Your eyes are so essential to your appearance, that changing them can cause you to not look like yourself.
Finally, the effects of a surgical brow lift in which skin is removed that the brow is pulled tight can lead to elevated brows, a perpetually surprised appearance.
How Restylane Injections Can Give a Brow Lift
Because much of the cause of sagging brows and eyelids is a loss of volume, restoring that volume with Restylane can rejuvenate your facial appearance. We prefer Restylane because it is smooth and gives good, even results under the thin skin of the eyelids. And it’s durable enough that it gives long-lasting results. With less muscle force trying to wear it away, Restylane lasts longer in the eye area than elsewhere in the face, sometimes lasting two years or more.
