Long Lasting Filler
There are many benefits to dermal fillers. Great results, no surgical risks, and a quick procedure. But they come with limitations, and the biggest limitation is that the results are temporary,
often short-term. If only an injectable could give long-term or even long lasting results. Now there is: Bellafill is an injectable designed to give longer-term results than other fillers. They may even be long lasting.
If you want to try Bellafill in Denver, Broomfield, or Westminster, please call 303.653.9584 or email Sonata Aesthetics today.
Bellafill was formerly known as Artefill. The name change was part of a new acquisition of the product by the pharmaceutical company, Suneva
What Bellafill Is Used for?
Bellafill is a dermal filler that has excellent structural properties. It is used in applications where support of tissues and durability are the most desirable attributes for a filler. It is currently FDA approved for:
- Smile lines (nasolabial folds or parentheses lines)
- Acne scars
Smile lines form around the mouth in response to repeated motions of the mouth, creating folds in the facial tissue. These folds can become hollowed out as repeated pressure on natural subcutaneous fat either eliminates or displaces it. Bellafill replaces the fat that’s been lost there, smoothing the appearance of your face and erasing the impact of years on your appearance.
Acne scars are the most common atrophic scars. In this type of scarring, your body doesn’t replace tissue lost to injury or infection. This leaves you with depressions in your skin. Bellafill replaces this lost tissue, giving you smooth skin and virtually eliminating the appearance of scars.
What Is Bellafill?
Bellafill is a unique filler, a special kind of composite filler that combines both natural and artificial elements to create a filler with an ideal combination of properties. Bellafill has a collagen gel and PMMA microspheres.
Collagen is a natural protein found commonly in your skin, essential for many properties of youthful skin. It’s long been used as a filler material. Because it’s natural, it’s well-tolerated by the body and gives great cosmetic results. Its only problem is that it is rapidly absorbed by the body, which is where the microspheres come in.
PMMA (poly methyl methacrylate) is a durable plastic material that’s been used in medical applications for decades. We know that PMMA is an inert material that is typically well-tolerated by the body.
After Bellafill injection, the body immediately begins to integrate the collagen. Because the PMMA provides structural support, the body doesn’t just dissolve the collagen and take it away. Instead, it “adopts” it, and blood vessels and other tissue grow around the PMMA microspheres to create a long-term structure.
Bellafill may not be appropriate if you are allergic to collagen or lidocaine, but for other people, this is an ideal option for getting longer-lasting injectable results. Please contact Sonata Aesthetics today to learn whether Bellafill is right for you.
