No Pain, no Gain? Not anymore!
By: Guest Blogger and Patient, Melissa Janiszewski
On June 4, 2015, I went in to Dr. Janowski’s office get a new chemical peel called, Vi Peel. Like many individuals with olive toned or even darker skin, I’m prone to discoloration.
I’ve had chemical peels in the past, but I wasn’t pleased with the pain and peeling I experienced, and it often left my skin with dark spots.
The Vi Peel has been around for several years and has been popular among celebrities, based on the little down time you experience. So, after hearing all of the potential benefits, I wanted to give this peel a try.
There have been so many advances in skin care; it’s hard to determine what works and what doesn’t. I’m writing this blog post, to let you know that this peel is “it”. The Vi Peel was specifically designed for acne, and I know that when people have this particular skin concern they become skeptics. Every product markets themselves as the one that will transform skin. It pains me to think about the thousands of dollars I’ve thrown down the drain, in the hopes of clearing my skin.
I do have several skin concerns that I’m trying to treat this year like, breakouts, scars and discoloration. While my skin concerns are not severe, it is something I’m trying to work on.
I found that the Vi Peel can be used for:
-
- Treating hyperpigmentation and melasma
- Reversing sun damage and signs of aging
- Improving skin tone and texture
- Clearing Acne & reducing Acne scars
- Stimulating collagen growth and elastin production, for younger looking skin
- Reducing the appearance of pores
- Treating the area under the eyes (no other peel can be used under the eye)
- Improving acne for patients as young as 13 years of age
It’s been a month since my treatment, and my skin has improved significantly. One of the first things that I noticed is that I’m not breaking out as before. Sure, I may get a little blemish from time to time, but it’s nothing to worry about. I also have noticed a huge difference in my overall skin texture and color.
So, does it burn like the traditional chemical peel? Not even a little. Not only did I not experience any burning, but my skin didn’t get flaky or irritated afterwards. You are sent home with face cream and a few other products to assist in the healing process. I have to say, this was the best chemical peel I’ve ever had, and I’m still seeing results.
