Who gets Botox and fillers? Well…just about everyone!
by Liz Janowski
The market for Botox® and fillers is ever-growing in the United States, and especially in Colorado. It is predicted (by Allergan, the world leader in aesthetic injectables) that by 2020 over 13.4 million Americans will get Botox® treatments each year. The average number of units a Botox® patient gets is about 34 units per treatment, with most needing re-treatment every 3-4 months. Every face is different, but 34 units should treat your frown lines (between the brows) and crow’s feet in an average person. If you have especially strong facial muscles, you will likely need more units.
From 2013 to 2014, the number of Americans using Botox® increased by a whopping 6%!
In 2014, 1.8 million Americans used filler to lift and fill their faces, which was an increase of 8% over 2013! Voluma, our most popular filler – which adds volume and definition to the mid-face, cheeks, and jaw line – is now the number one filler in the world.
Chemical peels rank as the third most popular medical aesthetic treatment, with over 1.25 million people getting a medical-grade chemical peel in 2014. And the fourth most popular procedure is IPL treatments, with over 1.1 million people getting rid of sun damage and pigment with an IPL series in 2014.
We love all of these treatments, and our amazing top 10 injector, Dr. Janowski, and our medical aesthetician and peel specialist Laurel, would love to chat with you about all of these treatments on your next visit into the office.
